Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American performer and actor who began her career with clever hip-hop raps that addressed racial as well as sexuality from a boldly comic perspective. After that, she branched out into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Korean immigrants living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was via the trumpet. Later, she began hip-hop and classical training. At college, she concentrated in her studies, pursuing a degree in both journalism and women's issues. For a brief period of time in Beijing and she also took classes in Mandarin. The focus on music until she graduated. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity via the Internet during 2012. It eventually made it on her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also had songs that were viral such as body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown New York Bitche$. This latter song was directly tied to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. After establishing herself as a musician, and author and a writer, she decided to take on the role of actor. In addition to early shows like Girl Code and Tawk she has also appeared in films such as Neighbors 2. Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she got a number of major roles like Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP In Fina We Trust.
